In the quest for a better light bulb, the latest entry uses white LEDs with a selection of quantum dots that give the bulb a nice warm glow. It uses 80-90% less energy than regular incandescent bulbs, and it should last 15 years. The significance? 22% of the energy consumed in this country goes to lighting.
